Voting - It’s your way to have your say!
Municipal governments provide many services that are of immediate concern to citizens. These include, but are not limited to: community and social services, recreation, water, sewer, waste management, essential services such as police and fire protection, road maintenance, traffic management and land use decisions. Municipalities play a major role in determining the character and prosperity of the community.

Voting is a fundamental right of democracy. When you vote, you are selecting representatives who will make the policies that determine how our Town functions and how we live together.

Paper ballots will be made available to those preferring this traditional method of voting.

FAQ's:

Why should I vote?
Your vote makes a difference! By voting for a Mayor and Councillors, you are helping set the future direction of your community. The Town provides the day-to-day services you count on - from Fire and Police, to clean water, roads, and garbage collection, to parks, recreation facilities and public libraries (to name a few). Town Council decides how your property tax dollars are spent and establishes the level and range of municipal services available in your community. That's why your vote makes a difference!

What do I do if my name isn't on the Voters List?
The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is responsible for supplying the Town of Renfrew with the Voters List for municipal elections. Once received from MPAC, the Town will make the list available for public inspection, and modify the list as required to ensure accuracy.

The preliminary Voters List showing the names of all persons entitled to vote in the October 25, 2010 Municipal Elections will be available for public inspection at the following locations, commencing on September 2, 2010.

• Town Hall, 127 Raglan St. S., Renfrew, ON K7V 1P8

If you qualify and your name is missing from the Voters List or the information is incorrectly shown, you must file an application for revision during the period starting September 2, 2010 to October 25, 2010 (Voting Day).

Applications are available in the Clerk's Office and may be filed during this period between 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday, at the Town of Renfrew. Applications may also be made on October 25, 2010 (Voting Day) at the elector's respective voting location.
