In accordance with the Municipal Elections Act 1996, as amended, the next Municipal Election will be held Monday, October 25, 2010. Under the Act, the Town Clerk is responsible for conducting the elections in the Town of Renfrew for the offices of Mayor, Reeve, Councillors, and School Board Trustees. Additionally, the Town Clerk is responsible for certain aspects of the elections of members of school boards, as set out in the Education Act and associated regulations.
The Clerk's Office conducts the Election including compiling and finalizing the voters list, providing public notification of the election process, establishing voting locations, recruiting and training election officials, and tabulating and publishing the election results.
This web page is intended to communicate relevant information pertaining to the 2010 Municipal Elections. As dates, processes and other details are finalized, this page will be updated accordingly. Nominations will be accepted the first business day after January 1, 2010 which will be January 4, 2010. The last day to file Nominations is Friday, September 10, 2010 by 2:00 pm.
